MUSIC THERAPY

Bluffton & Charleston

Candace Deshler LPMT, MT-BC is a Board Certified Music Therapist originally from Virginia, now living in Bluffton, SC. She received a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Shenandoah University in 2011 after completing an internship with VCU Health in Richmond, VA. During her almost 15 years in the field, she has worked in several settings including schools, hospitals, mental health facilities, hospice, memory care and adult day programs, serving infants all the way up to end of life. Candace currently provides services to the Lowcountry area through her private practice, working with groups and individual clients. In addition to Music Therapy, she also serves as the Musical Director for Bluffton Youth Theater, a non-profit organization that brings together children of varying abilities as well as challenges to produce top quality musical performances.

Jennifer Gossett, MT-BC, NMT, NICU-MT is a Board Certified Music Therapist and has practiced in the Charleston area since 2012.  She received her music therapy training at Charleston Southern University, following a 15 year career as a music educator in public and private schools.  Jennifer's passion for working with children with diagnoses such as autism and Down Syndrome is what drew her to the music therapy field, and she opened Noteworthy Music Therapy LLC in 2013.  Noteworthy's focus has always been in making music with neurodiverse children, children with rare genetic conditions and those with multiple/severe disabilities, both in special education classrooms and in the home environment.  Music is a powerful tool for connecting with others, communicating, and regulating our emotions, and Jennifer feels honored every day to bring music into the lives of special children.  She lives in Hanahan with her husband, Kevin, who is also a music teacher, and they are the proud parents of young adults Andrew and Athena (also musicians!).
