  • The program will consist of eight one hour weekly sessions held on Sundays at the SLT Barn in Moncks Corner, SC.

    All registered LAF participants ages 5-20 can join the lottery.

    Weekly sessions will consist of feeding, grooming and interacting with the horses.

  • Each program cycle is 8-weeks long. When selected, you will be notified via email 3-weeks prior to your cycle beginning to sign up for a time slot and sign a waiver. At this time you will receive any additional information from the SLT staff.

In partnership, Samuel Lee Tooney Sr. Foundation & LAF are providing an 8 week, 1 hour session to children with ASD and their families who are interested in equine therapy. With the funds requested, we will be able to provide 26 children with equine therapy.

Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT), also referred to as horse therapy for autism, is a therapeutic approach that involves interactions between individuals with autism and horses. This therapy is facilitated by trained professionals who use horses as a catalyst for promoting emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Equine-Assisted Therapy has been shown to have a positive impact on individuals with autism in various ways, including emotional and social development, sensory integration, and communication/language skills.
